Dan Gerhart, CPA, grew up inside a family business and spent 20+ years across public accounting, industry leadership, and M&A advisory, then built Scaling North to do it differently.
Who We Are
Built Different. On Purpose.
Dan grew up in a family-owned business, from acquisition all the way through to sale. Three of his brothers are also accountants. He spent roughly a decade in public accounting, seven years as a controller and CFO in industry, and three and a half years in M&A advisory. He left the big CPA firms deliberately: tired of a churn culture that put the bottom line ahead of people. Scaling North is the opposite of that.

Dan's approach is simple: listen deeply, respond fast, and go beyond the scope. Not just cleaning up books or filing returns, but explaining the story behind the numbers and helping you see what's coming before it arrives. He treats every engagement as a long-term partnership, not a transaction.
The person matters more than the industry. Dan works best with people who've overcome something, the built-from-nothing operator who knows what it means to grind for what they have. Often those clients are already doing well. They just don't realize how much better they could be.
